The dry air is just killing me! My skin, my lips, my kid’s lips…I feel like all the moisture has been sucked from my body. I shared with you what I’m using to keep my skin from being dry and itchy (and, thanks for sharing back!). Today, we talk about lip moisture.
I’ve heard from many of you over the past two years that lip balm is your go-to lip treatment; over gloss or lipstick, you reach for balm. My current favorite is Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine (a very light tint). The feel of this butter is amazing! I use good old-fashion Vaseline on my kids.
I asked the Daily Makeover Beauty Bloggerati to chime in on the topic. The following is a list of their favorite lip balms:

Product Girl: Right now I’m all about my La Mer The Lip Balm. The smell reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream and the texture is rich and thick leaving my lips feeling almost pillow-ey. It’s soooo good. I have a few other favorites that I mix it up with: By Terry Baume de Rose, Dr Hauschka’s Lip Balm and EOS Lip Sphere in Sweet Mint.
These Lips Are Made For Glossin‘: Fresh Sugar Lip Treat is bar none my go to lip product. It moisturizes and tastes amazing! For a hint of color I use the tinted version: fresh sugar rose lip treatment!
Beauty Blogging Junkie: I’ve been using tarte 24-7 lip sheer in Reduce non-stop for the past few months. I love the natural apricot-nude shade and SPF infusion. Knowing that it’s wrapped with post-consumer recycled aluminum makes me feel like one of those smug, aggressively environmental Park Slope-ians. But in a good way.
Spoiled Pretty: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick ($3.50) is moisturizing as all get-out, lasts a lifetime, and smells just like a frothy black and white milkshake. It’s addictive and might just be the best lip balm ever.
Beauty On A Dime: I’m obsessed with Yes To Carrots C Me Smile Lip Balm in Carrot. It’s organic, it’s super-affordable and it hydrates my lips better than anything else I’ve tried.
Hair Thursday: I am absolutely addicted to Sephora’s “Tricks of the Trade” Complete Lip Balm. In fact, I may or may not have had a complete meltdown last week when I lost it for two days. I apply this mango butter-infused balm every night before bed and wake up with smooth, hydrated lips.

The Jet Set Girls: I’m never farther than arm’s reach away from a lip balm–I have them stashed *every*where (on my desk, in my coffee table, on my bedside table, in my pocket, in every purse I could possibly use). I’m looking at a Snog Balm right now. It’s safe to say I’m addicted to lip balm.
While I have several favorites, the most effective one I use by far is plane old Aquaphor. It’s the only one that (for me) lasts all night. It’s also great for flying!
Makeover Momma: My sister always uses all kinds of cool lip balms from Sephora (to which I am jealous), but I always use Palmers Co-Co Butter stick. It can be used in tons of ways (to moisturizer your face…cuticle cream…etc.)- but I always go back to it. I’m addicted (even though it’s usually less than a $2-3!)
Beyond Beauty Basics: (Paul) I love Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm… Gives my lips a soothing but refreshing tingle while sealing in hydration. Essential for every guy (or girl) to carry in his pocket.
Talking Makeup: Love: fresh SUGAR Lip treatment SPF 15 & SUGAR ROSE: feels very cooling and soothing on lips. And, Kiss Me Tonight intense lip therapy by philosophy comes in cute little tube and feels like liquid silk.
Makeup and Beauty Blog: I love Philosophy’s Kiss Me Lip Balms. When my lips are cracked or dry, they’re the only balms that get ‘em soft and smooth again.
It’s your turn! Chime in on your favorite(s)! We all love to hear what products work great for other moms- it’s how we find the next best thing!
