Capessa for Real Moms

You are going to love this site called Capessa. They are offering up great info for the real moms in the world. Yes, we are all really but hey, most of us don’t have a nanny, stylist and makeup artist to assist us in daily living.

Capessa’s stand is this: “The celebrity saturated female market may have found its newest trend—real women giving other real women advice through personal experience. Capessa, a new online female community, looks to make the trend a reality. The site concentrates on everyday women who are dedicated to sharing personal life experiences and providing inspiration to their peers.”

Today, I want to feature a great video that shares how to host a clothing exchange with your girlfriends. You probably have a ton of clothes in your closet (belts, shoes and handbags too!) that could be worn by women that you know. Since we all love to add new pieces to our wardrobe, I thought this was a really smart way to do it without putting out the cash. (You could even do the same with your kid’s clothes, halloween costumes and toys- just make that a different event and enjoy this time with the girls.)

The video address issues like what to do if more than one person wants the same item and how to organize the event. Worried about the fact that not everyone is the same size? A medium top fits many different shapes so try it on! Even if sizes are truly different, you can always go home with great accessories!

Have fun with this event! Invite a manageable amount of friends (6-8), create a party atmosphere, have tea or a fiesta. Put on a fashion show, create fun and interesting ways to put together outfits, be supportive of each other. When the day is over, decide as a group where to donate the remaining goods. Happy Swapping!
