Back-to-School (BTS) shopping is just as fun for me as it is for my daughter. True, my son could care less but it gives me the freedom to shop for him and get what I think he’ll like (I’m usually right). Being that we homeschool and the weather doesn’t cool down in California until Christmas, I could literally go until Christmas without buying them new cool weather clothes. But, what fun would that be?
Plus, they grow. My daughter is going through a growth spurt, no doubt. Today she had 2 breakfasts and a dinner that could have made my husband full. (Lunch was normal). It reminded me of the week leading up to her being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, all she did was eat. Her poor body was starving. Since we know it’s not that this time, I’m confident she will shoot up an inch in the next week. Yay, more shopping! If you have a daughter, you know the fun it can be to score cute outfits for her!
My daughter and I ventured to Marshalls for some quality time, errrr, shopping time compliments of Marshalls. She found the cutest Esprit shirt-dress (the checkered gray and pink one below), a black skirt, the striped layer top (below) and a pink and white striped dress (not shown), all of which go with the amazing boots she is wearing (below). She didn’t take those boots off for days, even when temps were in the mid 90s’! The girl loves fashion!
You can really find great buys at Marshalls and at great prices! We spent less than $100 on the 5 BTS pieces for her. She loves them all and actually wears them, which means they were a GREAT value!
I noticed yesterday when I went into Marshalls that they are doing a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Makes me love them even more! Thanks Marshalls!
To all you moms sending your kiddos off to school today, enjoy the silence. To all you moms who homeschool like I do, I wish you peace, patience and wisdom! xo
