Boost Your Natural Beauty with Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery- is it even an option for you? Should a mom have surgery to enhance her natural beauty? Sure! Why not? You are a woman first, wife and mom second. If you think you could benefit from cosmetic surgery then what’s stopping you?

Aging, pregnancy, emotional stress and many other factors in life can affect the skin you were born in. Cosmetic surgery, a type of plastic surgery, can help you retake control of your appearance.

In 2007 alone, women had 10.7 million procedures, 91% of those were women. The five most popular cosmetic surgeries for women, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgery were:

1. Breast augmentation: Implants to create a fuller breast. You know how pregnancy, nursing and weight gain and loss can take a toll on your “girls”! Consider breast implants or a breast lift to raise sagging breast. Your clothes will look better on you and you’ll experience an increased self-confidence if your breast’s appearance currently bothers you.

2. Nose Reshaping: Nose surgery (rhinoplasty) improves the appearance and proportion of your nose. It can also correct certain types of breathing problems. I worked with a woman who had a bump removed from her nose (no other reshaping was done) and she was a different, happier person after the surgery!

3. Liposuction: Are you done having babies? Maybe this procedure is for you. I am all for a healthy diet and exercise routine but I know that some women struggle with unwanted fat deposits in the hips or thighs.

4. Tummy Tuck: A tummy tuck removes extra fat and skin to give you a tighter, flatter midsection. Same as with liposuction, you should put in the work to eat right and exercise before going to the extreme procedure of a tummy tuck but sometimes that baby belly just hangs on…

5. Eyelid Surgery: This procedure improves the appearance of the eyelids, helping you look more rested and alert. This surgery can treat under-eye bags and lower lid wrinkles as well.

Before you embark on any drastic surgery, do your research first! Plastic surgery is not for everyone! As with all information, make sure it is right for you. Check and understand the process of the surgery you are considering. Find several Board Certified Surgeons and interview a few before deciding on the one that will do your procedure. Finally, be honest with yourself before you do it. Are you wanting to look like a different person or are you wanting to enhance your own natural beauty? Do you want to be YOU, only better? If yes, then go for it!

If no, then perhaps you need to do a little more research and soul searching before committing to plastic surgery. Perhaps learning some new makeup tricks, committing to your exercise and diet routine, hiring a personal shopper, or having a non-surgical facelift is just enough of a change for you.

Would you have plastic surgery if money and recovery time were not factors?

  1. Very good post here- having served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, I very much appreciate the straight forward ideas and the advice to become well educated prior to undertaking any procedure. Make sure to look for a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and make sure you are comfortable with your surgeon, procedure, and plan!
