Wedding season has hit the Gibson household! Our oldest daughter is getting married on Sunday! How did time pass so quickly?! We are beyond thrilled with her future husband and know that she is making a great life choice.
Wedding plans have been in play since their November 2015 engagement, but now, things are getting serious.
I’ll be honest, it has been a challenge finding formal wear in the correct shade of mint and blush. If I don’t look at mint or blush for a very long time, I’ll be very happy. Four mint dresses have been purchased for my youngest daughter (she is a junior bridesmaid) and I just purchased my sixth blush hued dress. Shopping online is tricky as the images often don’t show the true color of the fabric. Fingers crossed this one will do the trick or I’ll be going in a not-quite perfect shade of blush (it is more peach than pink).
Now that we have determined what we will be wearing, I am focusing on getting my hair and skin ready.
A list of beauty rituals that I’m doing include:
- Deep conditioning my hair
- Fresh hair color
- Lip exfoliation
- Deep moisturizing of my skin
I know I’m not the bride. I’m not even the mother-of-the-bride (I’m the step-mom), but I helped raise this child and it’s a really exciting day…! I want to look my best! Making sure my skin is glowing and smooth is a priority!
As we age, our skin’s natural renewal process slows down and dead skin cells can build up, causing rough texture and dull looking skin. With oil glands becoming less active as we age, women over 40 experience dry skin even if they’ve never had dry skin before. If you are experiencing this, you are not alone. In an online survey of over 1000 women, nearly two-thirds of U.S. women report that the older they get, the more difficult it is to keep their skin moisturized.
I’m taking care of my skin by using AmLactin skin care, and I recommend you do as well. Here’s why:
With its unique combination of exfoliating alpha-hydroxy acids and hydrating humectants, AmLactin moisturizers smooth away roughness to reveal smooth, healthy-looking skin.
Here are the products I spoke of in the video:
AmLactin Cerapeutic Restoring Body Lotion: Ceramides may decrease in the skin with age. This formula contains three skin-essential ceramides to relieve dryness. You can see the results immediately and they last up to 24 hours.
AmLactin Foot Cream: Contains an ULTRAPLEX® formula to heal, repair and soften dry, callused skin.
AmLactin Ultra Hydrating Body Cream: Contains an ULTRAPLEX® formula gently exfoliates and is clinically proven to deeply hydrate. It helps smooth rough, dry, bumpy skin—including dry skin associated with Keratosis Pilaris (“KP”). I like to use this one on my hands so I keep it by my sink and desk and apply frequently.
I didn’t speak about the AmLactin Moisturizing Body Lotion in the video but it is the go-to every day lotion with a kick of alpha-hydroxy. It boosts the skin’s natural renewal process through gentle exfoliation and deeply moisturizes.
