    Basq- Pregnancy Skin Care

    By Tammy | June 18, 2008

Pregnancy skin care needs to be different. It needs to make mom-to-be feel special, offer up the safest ingredients for both mom and baby, and address the special issues the pregnant mommy and new mom have (stretch marks, itchy belly, break outs and blemishes, swollen legs, sleeplessness and sensitive skin). That is a tall order for any company! In my opinion Basq Skin Care has successfully created such a line.

The ingredients in Basq products are 100% safe for pregnant and nursing moms as they are free from harmful chemicals. Basq Skin Care company states, “Basq pregnancy skin care products are specially formulated with ingredients chosen for their specific skin benefits, aromatherapy scents and safety for use during pregnancy. Blending ancient aromatherapy traditions with modern science, each product offers solutions for specific pregnancy skin care needs.

The use of essential oils and plant extracts can provide great benefit during pregnancy. Not only can the oils’ scent calm or invigorate the senses, there are real skin benefits that can be attained through their application. Working with a leading aromatherapy expert, Basq hand selected essential oils and plants most appropriate and helpful during pregnancy.” (Read more about the ingredients) All products are tested for Allergy & Sensitivity.

I have found the gift sets to be exceptionally well put together and look forward to treating a friend of mine to one very soon! The gift sets include products such as Soothing Foot and Leg lotion, Citrus Sugar Body polish, Resilient Body Oil along with many more options! Of course, each of the products are available for individual resale.

Celebrity Moms are also loving Basq! Angelina Jolie, Heidi Klum, Gywenth Paltrow, Sheryl Crow and Jennifer Lopez are all fans!

Basq in the Moment, It’s Your Time to Enjoy!

Lavender essential oil is used in many skin care products, however, many companies dilute the oil, or use synthetically altered versions.

I find it interesting any company would state that their products are 100% safe. There is not a way to test for 100% safety. I have seen inghredients in Basq skincare that are linked to birth defects. I think it sounds like hype.

I agree, Basq contains chemicals, such as artificial fragrances that are a cover word for phthalates that’s linked to genital issues in baby boys, Peg compaunds. http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/product/132756/Basq_Reblancing_Facial_Cleanser_%3B%3B/

You have to always check the ingredients and not just believe what manufacturer says.

      There are better brands.

These products might be advertised as pregnancy safe but, I am sorry, they contain more then enough harmful chemicals, that rate 6-9 on Skin Deep (Cosmetic safety database). Basq is not a sighner of “Pact for safe cosmetics” either. That should give you something to think about. All they do is cover their tracks with celebrity faces.

      Ingredients found in their products:

Triethanolamine (TEA) Rates (6) on SD, human immune system toxicant
Fragrance (8), link to phthalates, link to genital abnormalities in boys.
      Propylene Glycol (4-7), carcinogen
      Hexylene Glycol (4-5) irritant
Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A) (5) derevative of Retinol, known for birth defects
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (3-6) strong irritant
DMDM Hydantoin (7-9) human immune system toxicant, restricted/banned in Japan (!!!)
Polyethylene (6-8) Not safe for use on injured or damaged skin
PEG-100 Stearate (5-7) evidence of sense organ toxicity, endocrine system disruption , Not safe for use on injured or damaged skin
Ceteareth-12 (5-9) Not safe for use on injured or damaged skin, brain and nervous system neurotoxicity evidence.
Ceteareth-20 (5-9) Dioxane contamination concern, neurotoxic.
Urea (5), human immune system toxicant
Iodopropynl Butylcarbamate (4-6), Human toxicant – strong evidence, restricted in Japan.

      Do your homework, people.
