Fake eyelashes give you a whole new look, a sexy look that you and your husband are going to love! Granted, applying the false eyelash is not a part of the everyday, busy-mom routine but once in a while, WOW your hubby with this sultry look!
I learned the magic of false eyelashes on the set of It’s Mom’s Nite. I felt like my eyes looked gorgeous all day and when I got home, still in full makeup, my husband’s reaction was enough to convince me to try wearing falsies again. I may surprise him on our next date by wearing them…now, to figure out how to apply them myself…
My eyes- left without makeup, right with makeup and fake eyelashes
I found a very helpful video to take me step by step through the process. It’s like applying liquid eyeliner, it takes practice to get it right but I’m confident I can learn to do it.
How To Use And Apply Fake Eyelashes
Step 1:
Cut Back
Measure the strip of lashes to your own eye. Using small straight-ended scissors, trim off any excess from the outer edge. For a more natural look, trim the ends unevenly.
Step 2:
Make It Stick
Carefully apply a very thin line of glue to the base of the strip. Allow the glue to dry just a few seconds before you move on to the next step.
Step 3:
Apply Lash Strip
Using tweezers or your fingers, gently hold the false lash above your own. Apply at the outer corner of your eye first. A stripped cotton swab stick will help you get the false lashes as close as possible to your own lash line.
Step 4:
Finish The Look
Use eye shadow as liner to blend the false lashes with your own. Finish with a coat of mascara.
I’ve heard from girlfriends that MAC Cosmetics has great lashes. I plan on giving the She Bad Lashes (very glam!) a try first. If you use falsies, leave a comment with brands you’ve tried and recommend.
Do they feel heavy? Yes, a little. You definitely notice at first but you do get used to them, I promise!

Thanks Posh Mama! I am heading to the beach!
Great tip…I remember my older sister wearing them when I was a kid. Personally, I’ve never tried them…but mmmmm maybe I will now.
Christina, we can go to the MAC store (in Palm Desert) together. The beauty techs will cut back and show us how! That would be a fun mom’s night out!
Tammy… count me in. That totally sounds like a great idea and I am so due for a Mom’s night out! LMK!
