I went in to get my hair done today. When I walked in the plan was to have my roots touched up and the bottom layer of my hair cut off, removing about 2 inches in length. When I walked out I had low-lights, 2 inch shorter hair…all over… and a half-styled head (I was on a schedule and needed to leave to pick up my daughter from preschool). I had wanted more of a one length look but apparently did not express myself correctly for before I realized it, I was having my layers taken up as well.
I hated the cut all day. I tried styling it when I got home, after running errands all day with a half-styled head of hair. My attempts made it look worse. I pulled it back in a clip. My sweet hubby said it looked fine, but not HOT like he usually says- a sign that it is too short and too dark for his taste.
I finally got to shower tonight and blow my hair dry. It turned out better than I imagined. I may even like it -but the jury is still out on that! The low-lights will fade, the layers will grow…

Love your site. It’s gorgeous and your writing is delightful. Love your title, Adventures in Beauty – for me, getting my hair “done” has always been an adventure. Often more of an adventure than I’d like.
Thanks for the fun read.
