A Mom in Red High Heels Loves L’Oreal Paris

You’ve heard me talking a lot about L’Oreal Paris lately.  The content flow started with the amazing opportunity to blog live in the L’Oreal Paris Golden Globes Beauty Lounge.

During that experience I came to realize just how much of a “Real Woman’s Brand” L’Oreal Paris is.  I watched the makeup artists and hair professionals create beautiful looks with a “drugstore brand” product.  It provided me with the insight to understand that you really can create your beauty look on a budget.

I’ve always been a drugstore brand kind of gal.  I worked in a retail pharmacy as a cashier right next to the beauty department as a teen (it was my job to keep the cosmetic area clean and stocked);  my family never had money to spare and we didn’t live close to department stores so we bought what was available at mass retailers; I married a pharmacist who has worked at Walgreen’s (discounts!).  Brands that meet the needs of the average consumer have always been a part of my life.

Some reasons I like L’Oreal Paris over other drugstore brands:

  • L’Oreal Paris has taken the next step beyond just a “drugstore brand”.  They have a beautiful boutique in the Beverly Center in Los Angeles (there is also one in Farmington Connecticut) that features a high tech TruLight Pod so you can apply your makeup for the event, in the same type of lighting, you’ll be attending.  Lighting options include some of LA’s hottest night spots! This pod is also a great place to find your correct foundation shade.
  • They’ve also given us a line of high pigment products known as HiP (High Intensity Pigment). More expensive brands are known for having a higher pigment content, making the makeup last longer during wear and show up better when applied. L’Oreal Paris HiP products do this same job but are still at a low, affordable price and available at mass retailers.
  • The L’Oreal Paris store also has hands on use of the products. I’ve mentioned before that more brands should do this. With Target now offering some product sampling of the newer brands, the concept is becoming more popular as everyone tries to catch up to what L’Oreal Paris is already doing in two brand stores.

As busy moms, we need a brand we can trust, that puts out a quality product and is available when we are shopping for cat food and diapers.  We need our beauty brand to be in a kid friendly place.  We need our beauty brand to be affordable.

Even working moms, who might have a larger budget, will find L’Oreal Paris a convenient brand to shop.  Does a working mom really have time to take a trip to Sephora or the department store to get a high priced beauty brand?  If she does, she likely has to tote her kids along on the weekends and let’s face it, Sephora is not a fun place to be with a preschooler or toddler! Too crowded, too many temptations to touch and if you bring your daughter with you, too many temptations for her to say, “I want” (my daughter loves going and testing the makeup and wanting every gloss on the shelf…she’s 4!).

At risk of sounding like I’m making a sales pitch (I don’t work for them or get endorsed!), I highly recommend L’Oreal Paris for the reasons listed above.  While it is fun to experience a variety of other brands in various price points, I find that some of my favorite products that I come back to daily are from L’Oreal Paris.  They are a good fit for the life of A Mom in Red High Heels!

* L’Oreal Paris products are available at Target, Walgreens, most mass retailers and L’Oreal Paris.com

I agree I think Loreal offers a great line of products!

    2. Until you blog at the Golden Globes I hadn’t realized how many L’Oreal products I actually owned. It seems I have been drawn to them with out really looking at the name but I have a lot of products and have been happy with them all…and you’re right it is much easier and fun to shop at Target then Sephora with my twins!
