Over spring break my family took a road trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Turned out to be a 8.5 hour drive…seemed like the longest drive ever! I discovered there were a few beauty products I wish I had taken on the road with me.
Since I know the economy is stressing everyone’s budget, a road trip may be in your future as well! Pack your beauty products and keep them close!
Like an airplane trip, you’ll need to stay hydrated, germ-free and sane while traveling to your destination.
Here are my 9 Road Trip Beauty Essentials:
- Wet Wipes- oh boy, do kids get grimy! How that happens while they are buckled in on the road is a mystery to me!
- Lip Balm- constantly apply to prevent dry lips from heat or air conditioning (in my case, very windy conditions every time we stepped out of the car!)
- Aromatherapy Water- used to spray your face for hydration, indulge your senses for relaxation or alertness (depending on scent of spray). If you use Evian Spray then it also entertains the kids when you unexpectedly spray them!
- Drinking Water- hydrate from the inside. Don’t try to skip drinking water to avoid potty breaks. Your skin needs it and stopping is good for your body to stretch and move!
- Hand Cream- again with the hydration! Maybe car trips give me too much time on my hands (excuse the pun) but I notice how dry my cuticles are and every little sunspot! It motivates me to treat them to a cream packed full of vitamins and enzymes! Plus, your hubby will love it when you offer to massage his free hand while he drives!
- Eye Cream- use one with reflective properties so you look alert and fresh even when you are not. You never know who you might meet at some random Dairy Queen in the middle of nowhere!
- Hand Sanitizer- gross restrooms…enough said
- Mints- keep your breath fresh so you can smooch with your hubby now and then (and cancel out that taco breath from too many drive-thrus)
- Fashion Magazines- one of every recent fashion and beauty magazine in print and some back issues that you need to catch up on. It’s a long road ahead!
You might as well take advantage of your peaceful moments between refereeing an argument between kids, passing out snacks and starting the next DVD to make sure you are looking and feeling your best! Happy Travels!
