6 Ways to Extend the Life of Your Blowout

InStyle Special Hair Issue

I picked up the Special Hair issue of InStyle magazine yesterday.  It’s really great;  full of tips, product recommendations and of course, lots of great cuts and colors to duplicate!

One feature called Make It Last (page 69) gave 6 Ways to Entend the Life of Your Blowout.  It’s great information for busy moms!  Not only does it help you cut styling time each day, it keeps your hair from getting over styled and damaged!

Here is the recap of InStyle recommends:

  1. Mist damp hair with volumizing spray for hold
  2. Avoid silicone polishers as they attract dirt and oil
  3. Use a coated fabric shower camp instead of a plastic one that will make you sweat and cause frizziness
  4. Spritz the front of your hair with water and refresh it with a blow dryer
  5. Revive sagging sections with a styling lotion and quick blowdry
  6. Before bedtime, pile your hair on top of your heard using a nonmetal elastic band to retain body and fullness

I’d also like to add that if you let your hair go unwashed for too long, even if it still looks great, it will start to smell so don’t go over 3 days without washing!
