With the first month of 2013 over, I wonder how many of us are still working on those New Year’s Resolutions? If you are like the many millions of people out there, you may have reverted back to old habits that are keeping you from getting fit the way you set out to. It’s frustrating, isn’t it?
I’m right there with you. I ate way too much at our Super Bowl party last night!
Until you get serious and work your diet and exercise plan the way you intended, there are a few fashion tricks you can use to help you feel better about how you look in your clothes.
- Use colorblocking to your advantage. Look for color blocks that run vertical and on your sides to create the illusion of a thinner waistline. Faith Hill uses this technique to enhance her gorgeous shape!
- Wear the right bra! Bulging, sagging and obvious lines are not attractive. Wearing a bra like the Genie Bra* will create a smooth, conforming fit that allows you to feel confident in your clothes!
- Dress in monochromatic outfits. Wearing a single color family from head to toe creates the illusion of long and lean.
- Use compression to smooth bulges. Leggings like Slim & Tone Leggings are seamless, designed to conceal cellulite, and provides 5 zone comfort of invisible support over problem spots.
Using fashion tricks like these will help you feel your most beautiful!
Here are some visual inspirations for how colorblocking can work to help you look leaner:
And, monochromatic dressing:
*I received the Genie Bra and Slim & Tone Leggings to review. The Genie Bra is an excellent bra that works well with wrap dresses, fitted sweaters and tees! I hate when I can see my bra lines through my tops and the Genie solves that fashion issue for me! I look and feel better in my clothes when I wear it! You do need to be careful what you wear it with as the straps are thick and may show unless you are wearing a top with enough coverage. However, the Genie comes in some fun bright or pastel colors that you may just want to show as a layering piece!
The Slim & Tone Leggings help pull in all the over-hang. I’m not a fan of the muffin-top that I am accumulating and these leggings are great for helping hide that mess! As a reminder, leggings are not pants. They are intended as a layering piece and should be worn with a tunic or under a dress in the cold weather. Not covering your bottom while wearing leggings is not flattering on anyone.
Shopping smart will save you time and frustration when you are trying to get ready quickly in the morning. Key pieces that help you feel better about your body will always be your go-to pieces!
