I was honored to attend the 2013 Red Dress CollectionSM fashion show on February 6, 2013. (you can check out my photos on Instagram) The show is a beautiful showing of red gowns, used to raise awareness and support for women’s heart health programs! The celebrities wearing the gorgeous collection of red dresses help to spread the message that women need to take care of their hearts since heart disease is the #1 killer of women.
Diet Coke® partners with The Heart Truth® campaign to bring added awareness through packaging of their products and the Red Dress CollectionSM fashion show. Minka Kelly is the ambassador for this year’s campaign. I spoke with Minka prior to the show and learned that she is committed to living a healthy lifestyle after losing her mother to colon cancer. Minka says she keeps her heart healthy by working with a trainer three times a week, hiking, doing yoga and other cardio activities. She likes to mix it up to keep from getting bored. Minka also watches what she eats and takes tips from Eating for Your Blood Type as well as practicing food combining. To keep stress low, in addition to exercise, she practices being grateful every day.
As part of her official duties, Minka took pictures with a variety of groups pre-show, including the Diet Coke® team, contest winners from the #ShowYourHeart contest and the official digital correspondents, including myself. She is super sweet and ultra-gorgeous! Her arms are so toned (I’m feeling inspired to do something about mine!)
Minka wore an Oscar de la Renta gown for the Red Dress CollectionSM show.
The full list of models included: Minka Kelly, Cindy Parsons, Gabrielle Douglas, Jamie Chung, Jillian Michaels, Kelly Osbourne, Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Nastia Liukin, Roselyn Sanchez, Savannah Guthrie, Soledad O’Brian, Toni Braxton, Torah Bright, Wendy Williams, Brenda Strong, Chiquinquira Delgado and Cindy Parsons!
Here are some runway shots because I know you are dying to see all the gorgeous RED gowns!
My favorite picture from the night is Mama Jenners with her youngest girls:
The celebrities have done their part, now it’s time to do your part!
