Meet Julie Hill, Co-Founder of BornFit

    By Tammy | June 16, 2008

    Your Name: Julie Hill

How many children do you have? 2-a 3 yr. old little girl & 6 mo. old little boy :)

    Your Business Name: BornFit

Brief Description of Your Business: BornFit is a line of athletic wear…created with Moms in mind! We have both a maternity line and relaxed-fit line that are designed to keep Moms moving at all stages of their lives. BornFit is about feeling strong, beautiful and confident. BornFit products celebrate loving who you are and your journey toward healthy living.

When do you make time to run a business with your busy MOM schedule? Great question! Time is my biggest challenge. My husband’s cousin watches our children two days per week (she is a lifesaver!). Otherwise, I work as fast as I can during nap times and am up into the wee hours of the morning many nights of the week.

What is your favorite beauty tip?
Exercise is essential for your body, mind and spirit. And yes, EXERCISE is a beauty tip!

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion? Don’t cover up or disguise your natural beauty.

What beauty/fashion tips will you be sure to share with your daughter, niece or neighbor girl as she grows? Always wear sunscreen and don’t be afraid to create your own “style.”

What is your favorite outfit in your closet and why?
Jeans and my BornFit Cameron Pullover! Both keep me comfortable which is a must! The pullover is great for many reasons. The fabric is moisture-wicking and breathable so is perfect for running around in…as all of us Moms do! Plus, it looks good. I have also found that when my son spits up on me, it is easy to wipe off and keep going!

What’s your favorite online site to shop for beauty or fashion?
    Title Nine
    Nordstrom

What motivates you to look your best?
I want to look my best and be my best for myself and my family.

As a mom, “Me Time” is limited… what are your time saving beauty tips?
    I love hats!

Name one product you can’t live without:
    Neutrogena face moisturizer.

Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair.
Flats! I’ve never felt very graceful in heels. These days, I spend most of my time in tennis shoes. They help me keep up with my kiddos! Right now, I love my Pearl Izumis!

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Which brand/color?
Lip gloss – natural lip gloss by Mary Kay.

Editor’s Note: Thank you Julie for sharing about your business and your beauty/fashion tips! Every woman has a style that reflects who she is, where her heart is and what makes her feel good about who she is. Julie shows us that her favorites are not right off the runway but right off the trail and she wears them beautifully. In finding what works for her, she is functional and fabulous!

Be sure to check out the fabulous styles and accessories at BornFit.com! I am loving this bag and the price is so right! Not only is there shopping to do but you’ll find a ton of inspiration on BornFit! I love their home shopping page:

Thanks for introducing us to Julie! I love that family photo…and I’m definitely going to check out her online shop.

Julie’s comment about working “as fast as I can” during nap time and then into the wee hours of the morning made me smile. Oh, how I relate to that! :)

I really love this segment of your site! So many cool moms to learn about! Hope you are doing well and managing a smooth transition into Summer. I am feeling a little frazzled with all of the kids home and not so much “me” time!

      :) Jen
