Murad- Where Skincare Meets Healthcare
By Tammy | May 26, 2008
Have you ever visited a medical spa? One that looks at your diet, exercise, stress levels, internal water levels, body composition, levels of hormones as well as esthetic needs required by your skin? Probably not. Most spas are not that comprehensive. Sure, they tell you that you need to drink more water, tell you to eat more fresh fruits and veggies as well as apply your sunscreen. Do you know that all of the above mentioned have an impact on your skin’s health and how it ages?
It was my privilege to visit the Murad Complex in Manhattan Beach with the Total Beauty Beauty Tour. It is a beautiful center including the Murad Spa, Inclusive Health Center and Medical Offices. On the tour, we were shown the beautiful and very quiet spa where you can receive facials, massage, scalp treatments and more services that are good for you and make you feel like Queen for the Day!
In the Health Center, we saw the rooms where they offer yoga and do the extensive testing to help you achieve optimal skin health. A Lifestyle Practitioner will guide you through a lifestyle evaluation and a series of scientific tests, designed to evaluate every aspect of your health from the condition of your skin to your physical and emotional well being. The Health Center also offers workshops, lectures and events to help you learn about taking care of yourself and your skin.
Dr. Murad was away on travels to exotic locations looking for the greatest plant derivative that can be made into a beneficial product for our skin! (The newest product to come out in the Murad line is made from Durian, the newest beauty super fruit!) We were able to meet Jeff Murad, son of Dr. Murad. It was quite a treat to be in the same room with the “Face” and co-creator of the Murad Men’s Line .
To top the tour off, Murad so graciously offered the bloggers yummy hors d’oeuvres and goody bags. On the bottom of my bag I had a sticker and was announced one of three lucky winners. I won a set of the Environmental Aging line with Vitamin C products! Hurray!
I really do. I’ve been using them for years, almost by default. Murad is the product line sold in the spa where I started getting addicted to facials years ago. I’ve told you about the Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Gel. It’s a staple in my skin care routine.
So, let’s see who is really reading this post! I’ll only mention it once…since I have my own gel and won a gel, I’m offering the new bottle to a reader. If you’d like to try the best product to effectively fade age spots, freckles and hyperpigmentation for more even skin tone, clarity and brightness, then leave me a comment on this post now. Winner will be selected at random on Friday, May 30. Deadline is midnight PST.
I highly recommend you try the Murad line. I love that the philosophy behind the brand is total well being, not just a quick fix. Their program is well-rounded. In addition, the Murad company supports many great non-profit organizations and kid’s programs. They are a company moms can stand behind as Murad is contributing to the education and curiosity of the next generations. Be sure to read about all the fantastic things the Murad does to support the community.
