In Honor of Mom

My Mom is no glamour girl. In fact, dear Mom doesn’t wear makeup (*cringe, was I born of this woman?!) but she always cares for herself. Her very favorite beauty routine includes a nightly bath ( I can’t stand baths…I’m a shower girl…) followed by a good slathering of yummy smelling lotion (this I concur with!). Each morning she curls her hair and tops it with a spritz of spray. She completes her look with a slick of lipstick. For as long as I can remember she has been a lipstick girl! So…I guess she does wear some makeup….
Mom usually chooses a bronzy to neutral color for her everyday wear. She keeps her lipstick with her and applies often. This I love. Not only does she get to plant colored kisses on my kid’s cheeks, she brightens up her smile with a pretty pair of lips. Mom knows something about pulling off her signature look. She knows that the lipstick provides moisture, protection and subtle color. She knows that she feels more confident and more beautiful with just a touch of color. She knows herself.
So, in honor of My Mom ( and yours, of course!), I ask that you slick on your lipstick and go about your day with confidence and beauty! Happy Mother’s Day!
