    What To Wear on Thanksgiving…

    By Tammy | November 20, 2007

Start planning your holiday outfit now! Will you be cooking? Will you be a guest in someone else’s home? Here are some great tips to help you pick your perfect Thanksgiving outfit:

Live a Little Velvet Stand Collar Jacket* Look for relaxed shapes in festive fabrics like velvet pants or cashmere tunics.
    * Don’t dress up while you’re cooking; save time during the meal prep to change into your holiday outfit.
    * Wear an apron for dinner assembly and serving to protect from spills.
    * Avoid tops that will get in the way with serving: anything with droopy sleeves or long belt ties might drop into the serving bowls.
    * Wear moderate heels or dressy flat to keep your feet comfortable but stylish.
    * Wear accessories that will stay put. It would be a disaster if your earring fell off in the gravy! Long strand necklaces and chunky bracelets will get in the way of cooking and serving so opt for a scarf and fitted watch instead. A fun cocktail ring would be a fabulous addition to your outfit!

Avoid these common holiday fashion mistakes.

    1. Wearing Too Much Glitz
    2. Showing Too Much Skin
    3. Getting Caught With Nothing to Wear
    4. Making It Too Complicated
    5. Being Under or Over Dressed

Ultimately, you want to look festive and well-groomed. Put as much thought into how you look as you do into how the turkey looks. If you are like me and don’t have to cook the meal, then you’ll have plenty of time to get yourself and your entire family looking sharp.
