A Gentle Halloween Reminder…
By Tammy | October 30, 2007
DON”T EAT THAT CANDY!!!!
Oh, I know, it’s yummy. So, have a piece of two then STOP! It will only cause you heartache later disguised as guilt, zits, anxiety, stress, edginess and unwanted pounds. Sugar is bad. I know because I love it. I crave it. I eat it. But if I get out of control, I suffer.
Take care of yourself this Halloween. Toss out the leftover candy, send it to work with your hubby, mail it to your nieces and nephews- whatever it takes- just get it out of the house!

Can I use the excuse of feeding it to my baby if I’m pregnant?

Ailene you are so bad ; )
This is what I am doing….
1. Put all the candy I can see myself snacking on throughout the day on the contertop - I took a digital picture - then added up all the empty calories I would be taking in. Yeah - I do that to myself - it works though.
2. Candy Crafts
Use the candy to make crafts - no, it doesn’t work for the chocolate - grab some glue and get creative - then you cannot eat it! Great jump start on Christmas ornaments.
3. Candy Fairy
Put all candy out on the floor and have my son pick his favorite 5-10 treats. Then we leave the rest of the candy on the kitchen counter for the Candy Fair to come take it away to “Candy Land”. Miss Candy Fairy leaves a more practical treat instead….a book - my son’s Favorite!

Holly-
I tried out the Candy Fairy idea on my kids. They totally went for it so tonight the candy fairy will visit our house. As extra encouragement, I told them, “The more you leave, the bigger your prize.” When I shared that your son received a book, my son was totally hooked. Books are his favorite too!
