    Getting to Know Me

    By Tammy | October 10, 2007

I am excited to kick off a new series called “From the Mouths of Moms.” Each week I will feature a new Mom in Business, her business and a ton of her personal beauty and style tips. This will be a tool to introduce you to many great companies and great inspiration to help you look your best!

Please take a moment to get to know me, the voice behind A Mom in Red High Heels!Tammy Gibson

    Your Name: Tammy Gibson

How many Children You Have: Two, Nicholas and Montana. I also have one lovely step-daughter, Lesley

Your Business Name: A Mom in Red High Heels

Brief Description of Your Business: Beauty and Style Guide dedicated to Moms to inspired, empower and support them in their journey to look and feel their best every day!

Do you work from home or do you go to an office? I work from home. Mostly I work late into the night after my kids go to bed but I can be found on the computer throughout the day.

Do you get yourself ready everyday or do you find yourself hanging out in jammies for a large portion of the day? I get ready everyday! It sets my mind that the day has begun. Don’t get me wrong, I do spend plenty of summer vacation days and weekends hanging out in my lounge wear until 11 AM. Hey, a girl has the right to lounge…just not everyday!

What is your favorite beauty tip? Use a kitchen scouring pad on the bottom of my feet while showering. It works as well as a foot file but costs less.

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion? To keep your lips kissable. My mom is always putting on lipstick though she wears no other makeup!

What is your favorite outfit in your closet and why? My dark denim jeans that fit just right…most of the time, paired with red strappy heels and a black top. I love black, I love denim and I love red high heels!

What motivates you to look your best? The fact that I want to share and educate other moms to do the same is a pretty big motivating factor! Also, I just feel better about myself and exude more confidence if I put some time into how I look each day. Confidence is a great beauty booster in itself!

Any time saving beauty tips to share? Take a shower and do your hair at night. In the morning you’ll just need to add a curl or two to complete your style. This works well for women with thick hair like myself since blow drying takes SO long. Sleeping on freshly done hair takes some of the extra “poof” out of my hair.

Name one product you can’t live without: Dove Moisture Rich Color Shampoo and Conditioner. Very few conditioners work well on my hair. This one does so I will always keep it with me when I travel!

Heels or flats? Both! I love all shoes…except those that hurt. If they hurt, they are banned from my feet and left to look pretty on the closet floor.

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Lip Gloss.

Any additional comments on beauty and style you’d like to share: Educate yourself on what looks good on you. Most importantly, now that you are a mom don’t let yourself go into “frumpy mommy mode”! You don’t have to lose your style just because you gave birth!
